Nicholas Jordan

Dear Wells of Life Family: In November 2008, I finally undertook a trip I had waited my whole life to take.  I went to Uganda, Africa to see firsthand the schools in which I had helped build through fundraising.  I was overcome by the poverty, by the fact that young girls couldn’t get an education because they were to fetch water each day and most of all, the tragic deaths of children because of the lack of clean water.  At that time I, along with Trevor Stevenson of Fields of Life, decided to co-found Wells of Life and bring clean water to those precious children of Africa.   Since Wells of Life’s inception, we have made a huge difference in the lives of those children and their families.  To date we have funded 100 water wells that will bring clean water to over 100,000 villagers!  Not only does clean water save the lives of children, but it allows them to go to school and receive an education as well as saving the women of the village from having to haul 44 pounds of water (the weight of 5 gallons of water) over several miles each day. In addition we have set as our goal to reach thousands of our youth and inspire them to be a part of a community effort in using their time and talent to give back and be of service.  Serving others provides a cornerstone in developing character.  Communication amongst our youth has become diluted and polluted with information overload.  Face to face communication is becoming obsolete.  We have spoken at events in which parents recognize they have not done enough to give back and exemplify to their children the importance of working as a family unit in philanthropic efforts.  Being committed ambassadors at home and abroad for Human Rights through Wells of Life will provide this very important opportunity to serve, inspire their peers and families, and encourage community collaboration. What greater gift than a child or family seeing first-hand the tangible fruits of their effort and generosity? In the 5 years since I first witnessed the powerful effects of a water well, we have changed the lives of 100,000 people. Every single person received the gift of life for as little as a $6.00 donation. We believe this serves as one of the most effective and measurable forms of giving.  In a simple yet effective collaboration, we have joined CEO’s and school children in providing the most basic of all human rights - Water. This is the true vision of Wells of Life, saving lives…one at a time…one well and one community at a time. Come join us in this lifesaving work. Many blessings,
Nick Jordan
