AFRIpads

Wells of Life is excited to announce that we are partnering with AFRIpads, a Ugandan-based social enterprise, that provides sustainable menstrual kits to girls in rural areas. We are currently implementing menstrual kits as one of the pillars in our Healthy Village Program!

An Empowering Partnership

Education is a right for all

Wells of Life will provide each and every girl with her own kit that will contain everything required for her menstrual hygiene. Not only will this ensure that our girls no longer miss several days of school each month, but they will come to know that their hopes and dreams matter to Wells of Life.

Girls miss an average of 3 days of school every 3.5 weeks due to menstrual cycles

Along with providing female students with Menstrual Kits, Wells of Life will also host an education session with male students to help reduce bullying girls about their natural cycle. We are excited to be able to provide girls with the same quality of education as boys.

This would not be possible without you!

Wells of Life is excited to share all new partnerships with you soon! We are creating an "army" in our quest to help the poor and tackle human-right issues along with bringing access to clean water. Our amazing community continues to grow, and more lives are being transformed for the better. Without you, this would never be possible. Thank you.

We are excited to continue growing as a charity.

About the Program

AFRIpads is a social enterprise with the social purpose of promoting and creating employment for vulnerable Ugandan women, producing and selling reusable pads, as well as offering menstrual products to the everyday woman in Uganda at an affordable price.

The products are produced by women in Uganda, and AFRIpads hereby ensures training, good working conditions and wages for the women who produce the products.

In addition, AFRIpads ensures that the products primarily go to girls in school and women in the labor market, thereby ensuring the retention of women in the labor market and girls in school. The idea behind AFRIpads is to empower girls and women to take their lives into their own hands and reach their full potential through stable income and access to education.

About the menstrual kit

Each kit will include:

- 6 Sustainable Menstrual Pads

- 2 Panties

- Bar of Soap

- Kit Bag (for discreet and safe keeping)

- Directions for Use

- Cleaning Instructions

AFRIpads are reusable sanitary pads designed to provide superior hygiene protection and comfort for women and girls.

AFRIpads  are made from already used textiles that provide effective protection for 12+ months, making them a cost-effective and eco- friendly solution.

AFRIpads consist of an absorbent, leak-resistant pad base with wings that fasten underneath the underwear. AFRIpads are delivered in a pack of 4 boasting a variety of styles and sizes. Within one pack, one can find a small, medium and large pad that can be used for the different flows of the menstrual cycle. After use, the pad folds easily for storage before washing. AFRIpads are absorbent, natural and unscented.

AFRIpads dry very rapidly and remains soft after being washed and air-dried. AFRIpads are durable and strong as the friction from long walks and various activities will over time put significant strain on stitching.

Why we love AFRIpads

The products are produced by women in Uganda, and AFRIpads hereby ensures training, good working conditions and wages for the women who produce the products. This works in tandem with Wells of Life's mission for clean water, allowing mothers who were previously spending hours gathering water, an opportunity to earn an income and learn a trade.

Along with our mission to provide clean water, our goal is to remove people from generational poverty, which means getting girls what they need to succeed in school and everyday life.
