Letter from the CEO: Nick Jordan speaks about World Cancer Day
In honor of World Cancer Day, I'd like to share with you my experience in the last year. I spent 2021 in the ring with Cancer. It was a heavyweight battle with an enemy I could not see. I found the battle was both physical and emotional in equal measure. The lows were very low and, some nights, the darkness overwhelmed me. Early on, Michelle and I made a pact to lock our doors and close our windows against FEAR. We took every ounce of help offered and then went back for seconds. We leaned into our Faith in God and never missed an opportunity to thank him when we had even a little bit of good news.
The chemotherapy and radiation certainly took their toll on my body but, thanks to several creative applications, I rallied each time and, in the end, survived. I know I’m one of the fortunate ones to have survived stage 4 colon cancer. Every moment I have left is precious to both myself and my family. Life will never be the same because I have stood in the shadow of death and moved into the sunlight.
The beautiful first light of morning never held more promise. I’m thankful for my family, my friends, and my Faith. I am confident God has a purpose for me and that purpose is to continue transforming lives through the gift of clean water. Wells of Life is steadily Marching Toward 1 Million lives transformed and I cannot wait to celebrate that moment with all of you! I have everything to live for now that I have faced the reality of death.
