For years, menstruation was something Grace and her friends avoided talking about.

Like many girls, she felt embarrassed and often missed school during her cycle. Questions stayed unasked, and uncertainty felt normal.

During Wells of Life’s Healthy Village Program, Grace joined other students in conversations around health, dignity, and menstrual education. Girls learned practical skills while boys were invited into the discussion too, helping reduce stigma and build understanding.

For the first time, Grace felt comfortable asking questions.

Today, she attends school with greater confidence and knows she is not alone. Because dignity grows when silence is replaced with understanding.
