Across rural Uganda, families often rely on distant, unsafe water sources. Hours that should be spent in school, earning an income, or caring for loved ones are instead spent collecting water. Clean water closer to home restores health, dignity, and valuable time.

Safe access to clean water restores health, gives back time, and creates the opportunity for communities to move forward and thrive. It allows children to return to school, families to build stability, and entire communities to grow with dignity and hope. Clean water is a foundation for education, stability, and a future that can be built and sustained.
How much does a well cost?
Every community is different, which means every water project is too. Project costs vary based on factors such as location, geology, infrastructure needs, community size, and long-term sustainability. A gift of $10,000 or more qualifies you as a Water Project Sponsor, including personalized recognition at a newly drilled well. While some projects are fully funded by a single donor, many are made possible through the generosity of multiple sponsors working together to bring clean water to a community.
Our solution is sustainable
Clean water is only transformative if it continues to flow. That’s why our approach goes beyond installation. We build systems that ensure each well is cared for, maintained, and sustained by the community it serves.
Each well is supported by:

Local water committees trained to oversee and care for the well, creating long-term ownership

Small monthly household contributions that fund maintenance and reinforce responsibility within the community

Ongoing support through our GreenWell program, which monitors every well through routine inspections and open communication to ensure wells continue to function

Partnership with the Ugandan government as an Area Service Provider (ASP) to strengthen national maintenance systems
